Zosia Gibbs was born in Johannesburg into a family where Polish and English cultural influences coexisted, something that would later resonate in her work. She received her artistic education at London’s Central Saint Martins and made her first professional steps in puppet animation, before moving on to a broader spectrum of applied arts: painting and decorative work, graphic design, and textile design.
In addition, Zosia Gibbs is known as an illustrator of children’s books. She has collaborated with publishers and authors, and in 2020 even released her own book, The Moon Keeper, which has been translated into several languages.
Zosia’s illustrations for The Master and Margarita are a personal, non-commercial project. In this gouache-and-watercolor series, she reinterprets the novel’s characters and scenes, rendering them through the lens of her distinctive pictorial and decorative style.
